So hear is the story of Jace David Burrup. He decided that he didn't want to come on his own, so they induced me a week late. I arrived at the Timpanogos Hospital Monday morning around 6:30. My nurse was Katy and she was seriously the greatest! I was already dialated to a 2 and almost 100% effaced. She induced me around 7:45 and then Dr. Berry broke my water at 8:30am. The contractions really started at 9am and I had to suffer until 11:30 to get the epideral. That epideral was seriously a lifesaver except it did make me really itchy. During transition I started throwing up which wasn't fun, but Justin was used to it (from all of the morning/all day sickness) so it was no big deal. I started pushing at 3:30pm but I couldn't feel a thing, no pressure, nothing! So, it made it difficult to know how to push. Well, Jace's heartbeat started to go a little crazy, so they had to help pull him out with the "Hoover." Jace decided to grace the world at 4:34pm weighing 6 lbs 14 oz and was 19 inches long. I only got to hold him for a few seconds before they rushed him off to get him stable. He was really white when he came out and they needed to monitor him. He was gone for 3 hours, but during those 3 hours I was really sick, I kept throwing up and I don't know why. They gave me zophran which didn't help and then they finally gave me a shot of phenegran which seemed to work. My epideral didin't wear off until early the next day, crazy how hard it hit me.
